It has been a while since I posted and I wanted the next post to be another home improvement project. We took a longer break than we meant to take after the holidays but we have finally finished our laundry room. I am so excited to have it painted and the floors done.
The first step was to clear the room and paint the walls. Here is a reminder of when we bought the house how this room looked.
We used the Sherwin Williams color named Crisp Blue. We decided on this color because we knew we wanted the floors to resemble water and the Crisp Blue tied in nicely with our floor colors.
In creating this look on our floors, I first painted them with Seal Krete Epoxy Seal for concrete & garage floors. I choose the color Armor Gray so that if it did show through, it would blend well with all the other colors.
To create this look, I used several colors mixing 20% paint with 80% water and applying paint in random motions across the floor working in smaller sections. Once I got paint onto the floor, I used Denatured Alcohol to blend the colors. If the colors did not blend as I wanted, I simply added more paint while the section of floor was wet until I was happy with the results.
The final step to finishing the floor is adding the epoxy mix. You simply follow the instructions from the box. We like to use a squeegee and then use a roller to make sure we get adequate coverage.
I have added several pictures during the process. I love the way this room turned out and would love your opinion on the floors.
